According to Camila Alves McConaughey, her husband, Matthew McConaughey, does not have the "getting high, laid-back" personality that the media has presented of him. The 41-year-old model and entrepreneur says that the actor is, in reality, more like his mother, Kay McConaughey.
During an episode of Southern Living magazine's Biscuits & Jam podcast, Camila said Matthew is probably not how fans imagine him to be, and she instead offered a description of what his personality is actually like.
"When we first start dating, it was this image of Matthew of getting high, laid-back, no shirt, whatever," she said. "Which I'm like, 'The guy doesn't even smoke. What is this vision coming from?'"
She went on to describe his actual personality. "He's actually the opposite, and he's like his mom," she said. "She's very organized, very minimalistic, very on time, very prepared, and he gets a lot of those traits from her."

The relationship between Camila and Kay wasn't always the best, she shared. “She did all these things when I first came in the picture, right? She was really testing me. I mean, really testing me,” she recalled, adding that Kay would call her by Matthew's ex-girlfriends' names. Now, they have a great relationship. “All she wanted was for me to fight back."
