The gossip associated with Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth has been circling the world for years now. Their relationship started when they met on the set of their movie The Last Song in 2009. After the world found out they were dating, they had an on-and-off relationship for about 10 years. They officially got married in 2018, separated in 2019, and officially called it quits in 2020.
Liam Hemsworth is the one who took charge and officially filed for divorce, which surprised Miley at the time, since they were only separated. Once the news of their divorce became public, Miley was labeled the villain.
She had a “bad girl” demeanor, which I’m guessing is a huge reason why people blamed her for the divorce. There were even rumors going around that she cheated, causing Liam to file.
Even though fans were saddened and upset by the breakup, the gossip about these two did not stay in the dark for very long. At the beginning of this year, Miley released a new song called "Flowers," and it instantly blew up.
The reason the song became so popular so fast was not only because Miley Cyrus is a talented musician, but because she was dissing ex-husband Liam by exposing his alleged toxic behavior and cheating.

The song is very catchy, but the music video is what truly got everyone's attention. When the couple first got married, Liam dedicated the song “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars. Miley switched the lyrics from Bruno’s original “I should have bought you flowers, and held your hand, should have gave you all my hours when I had the chance” to her saying she can buy herself flowers and talk to herself for hours.
She then shows herself in a gold dress and pulling her hair up. People think this is her shading Liam’s costar Jennifer Lawrence for having an affair with Liam while he was still with Miley. The biggest clue to her shade toward Liam, though, is the fact that Miley released the song and video on January 13, which is Liam’s birthday.
