Officer Surprises 9-Year-Old After Hearing Reason For Lemonade Stand

While on duty this week, Deputy Zach Ropos made an impromptu stop by a little girl's lemonade stand and gave one 9-year-old a surprise she won't ever forget.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Ropos was on patrol in Painesville, OH when he bought a drink from her stand. During the exchange, he asked what she was going to do with the money. She said she wanted an iPad to help with her schoolwork.

The little girl went on to explain that her family was going through a difficult time financially, and she planned to work hard to make enough cash for the iPad and to put money in Mom's car for gas.

"When she told me she gave the money to her mom … that's when I almost started crying because of how great of a kid she really was," Ropos told ABC News.

After his shift, the police officer went to the local Apple store and purchased a new iPad. He hand-delivered the surprise to the young girl, who couldn't stop smiling!

"I am sure he will be embarrassed to hear this highlighted and that it was never his intention to get recognized. But great job Deputy Ropos on making this little girl’s day! You really make a difference," Chief Deputy Frank Leonbruno wrote on Facebook.

It's awesome to see police officers going above and beyond the call of duty.
