Patrick Duffy Met His Actress Girlfriend Decades Ago But They Fell In Love During Lockdown

It really says something when love comes back around later in life and you end up reconnecting with someone from your past in new and unexpected ways.

In this video shared by the Tamron Hall show, American actors Patrick Duffy and Linda Purl discuss how they were acquaintances back in the day and reconnected on Zoom in 2020, which then turned into a surprising romance.

The pair actually reconnected in 2018 via text by a mutual friend, and when the global health crisis happened in early 2020, they started an internet relationship that organically turned to love.

Patrick notes that one day when one of them hit the FaceTime button by mistake, they ended up starting to do daily phone calls, which turned into long Zoom sessions where it was just nice to have someone to talk to.

“It happened very gradually. We started talking every night for a couple of hours … and then, Patrick read a poem he had written. And then I played some music,” Linda explains.

Patrick explains that things started to turn toward full-blown romance after one night when they were saying goodbye at the end of one of their calls and he accidentally blurted out that he loved her. From that point, he felt as though they both knew that there was something real there that needed to be explored.

Patrick then drove 23 hours nonstop from Oregon to Colorado to see Linda, and they were able to have their first real date in person.
