A 13-year-old student, while on the basketball court at his school gym, got the biggest surprise of his life. His mom has been serving in Kuwait for eight months. She, along with Derek's father who is also a military man, worked together with the school to shock Derek as he was shooting hoops!
The second Derek turns around and realizes who is touching his arm, I couldn't help but smile and then shed a tear — his reaction is so pure, so genuine and so emotional that it's almost impossible not to react that way. Mom was nervous about Derek's reaction, but she should know now how much her baby boy loves her and misses her while she's gone.
