Watching a baby go from hardly being able to understand what her own arms are for, to crawling around, to walking, is a truly magical experience.
Those are just the big landmarks, though. What about all the other things in between? What about the first time she gets a bad case of the hiccups? What about the first time she laughs at one of your silly jokes? How about the first time she puts together a string of jobber-jabber words and forms her first nonsense sentence? Those are also incredibly exciting, underrated moments.
Children learn so much from imitating what their parents or caretakers do. When they hear the same word repeated enough times, they'll eventually learn to make that same word in their own mouth. When they see Mom clap after an impressive burp from her baby, that baby will learn that that motion signifies approval.
This father, George Putzenheimer, wondered what would happen if he showed his adorable baby girl how to give a sweet little kiss on the cheek. He showed her a few times by planting some soft kisses onto her cheek.
To Dad's amazement, she caught onto the idea of kisses, but the execution? After her first attempt, Mom went to go get the camera, because this is absolutely priceless!
