When you put your kids on the school bus each morning, one thing you really shouldn’t have to worry about is the behavior of the bus driver, because their top priority should always be that all the children arrive safely at their destination.
This video posted by Inside Edition shares how a Colorado bus driver is now facing several child abuse charges after a video surfaced of him slamming on the brakes while driving a bus full of students.
According to the news outlet, the bus driver, a man named Brian Fitzgerald, decided to try to teach a busload of children a lesson about staying in their seats.
“You guys want to see how dangerous that is?” Fitzgerald can be heard asking the kids on the bus right before hitting the brakes.
As you can imagine, there were a number of parents who were angry about his course of action.
“It really turned my stomach. To see all the little bodies at the front go flying forward,” said Lauren Thomason, a frustrated parent. Her son Hudson allegedly hit his head on the seat in front of him as a result of the brakes being slammed. He also happened to be recovering from another head-related injury at the time.

According to the news outlet, Fitzgerald was working as a substitute bus driver that day. He later issued an apology: “I am sincerely sorry for my choice of actions. There are no excuses for what transpired.”
The bus driver now faces 30 child abuse charges for slamming on the brakes of the transport vehicle on purpose.
