On September 15, 2023, Hugh Jackman and Deborra-lee Furness shocked the world when they announced their separation. No one saw it coming. Now Hugh is working on a tell-all memoir to help process his grief over the situation.
Writing this memoir has reportedly been healing for Hugh. A source said Hugh is able to work through his emotions by typing them out and sharing his truth. This memoir is said to contain many bombshells, including details about his relationship with his parents and his relationship with Deborra-lee.
“He's finally [being] honest with himself [and] the divorce," one source told RadarOnline. "He'll be opening up like never before," the source added. It’s been "very healing for him" to write about everything.
Hugh was just a boy when his mother left him, his dad, and his siblings in Australia. She returned to the UK and the pair were estranged until 2021. Hugh’s father died that same year.
Hugh has been open about going to therapy to work through the unresolved trauma of his childhood. "Having someone really smart, who's a little bit removed from your world, can be really helpful," he explained to Who magazine. "Most importantly, it's helping me to be more relational with the people I love in my life, and really understanding and living in their shoes and being clear to be able to see them."

Hugh is reportedly struggling to process his divorce. Some reports have said he is ready to move on and date but one source told RadarOnline that is simply not true. "Hugh and Debs want everyone to believe it was a carefully thought-out, mutual decision to divorce, but the truth is this is the last thing he wanted and he's totally heartsick," they said. "She was the center of his entire world and he's totally lost without her."
