Unfortunately, when you’re young and going through school, there are always going to be those few kids who pick on their classmates for a multitude of reasons, including how they dress. As a parent, you always hope that you’ve instilled enough kindness and empathy in your child in order to ensure they’re not one of the bullies.
This video story posted by Wonderbot shares how a mother overheard her son mocking his classmates who shop at Goodwill, so she decided she needed to teach him an important life lesson.
Cierra Brittany Forney is a happily married and middle-class American mother of two. Her son Anthony is a 13-year-old teenager, and her daughter Margo is 8. Even though Cierra considered herself very lucky in terms of her home life, her husband was a Marine who spent quite a bit of time away from his family, so most of the parenting duties landed on her shoulders.
Ever since he was a little boy, Anthony has loved to show off. His parents never thought much of it as they always contributed his extroverted ways to high levels of confidence. But when Anthony became a teenager, things started to escalate.
When Cierra witnessed her son being a bully to some kids at school over what they were wearing and where they shopped, she knew she had to step in and do something.

According to ABC 7, Cierra shared on Facebook how she gave her son $20 to shop at Goodwill to pick out clothing to wear for a week of school. The news outlet reported that after the mother of two saw her son becoming “entitled” and making “snarky comments” to some of his classmates about where they bought their clothing, she knew it was time to humble him.
