95-Year-Old Grandmother Allegedly Physically Assaulted By Home Health Aide In Harlem

A disturbing video has surfaced of a home aide appearing to assault a 95-year-old grandmother in Harlem, New York. On July 21, 2024, a home health aide was sent to the home of the victim by Medflyt, an at-home health care agency. The aide was given instructions to take care of the elderly woman, who uses a walker and needs an oxygen tank.

The video of the alleged assault was caught on the grandmother's Nest camera.

"It was a nightmare," said Michelle Mitchell, the victim's granddaughter. "It was horrific. It was one of the worst days of my life." She saw the alleged incident take place from over her phone, as she was in New Jersey, thanks to the cameras the family had installed in her grandmother's apartment. "It was so unreal to me, that someone could punch somebody like they were beating them down," she said.

The elderly woman suffered bruises and is unable to lift her arms after being whacked with a pan and repeatedly hit until she collapsed to the floor. Doctors are also worried about possible blood clots as an effect of the assault.
