Pat Sajak’s Daughter Maggie May Replace Ryan Seacrest On ‘Wheel Of Fortune’

Pat Sajak’s daughter Maggie Sajak has worked as Wheel of Fortune‘s social correspondent since 2021. Given that her dad recently retired from his role on the show after hosting for more than 40 years, some have wondered if Maggie, 29, might eventually become a host herself. Ryan Seacrest replaced Pat Sajak as host for season 42 of the game show. During Ryan’s time on the show, Wheel of Fortune saw its largest premiere month audience in three years. Even so, some fans continue to be skeptical of Ryan.

According to The U.S. Sun, Ryan signed a contract with Wheel of Fortune for two years. Because Ryan might make the decision to move on after this, Sony has to consider other options just in case, an insider explained to the publication. The insider noted that Maggie Sajak stands out as an option given that she already has experience on the show.

In the past, Maggie filled in for Vanna White on the show. Technically, she appeared on Wheel of Fortune for the first time in 1996, about a year after she was born.

According to The U.S. Sun‘s source, Maggie could fill in on the show again if needed.“Maggie has positioned herself to help out if there’s a hosting vacancy, and the franchise is in her blood and her appreciation for the world of Wheel of Fortune is genuine,” the source said.

The insider added that Maggie’s age might be seen as an advantage. “It’s important to allow Maggie to develop her own voice when it comes to the Wheel fan base, and that makes her incredibly valuable to Sony TV,” they told The U.S. Sun. “Because the whole point of bringing in Ryan Seacrest was to reach more young people.”

Some people have also wondered if Maggie might replace Vanna White on the show when she retires. On Maggie’s Instagram, some of her followers fully support this, though Maggie hasn’t expressed interest in taking over for Vanna at this time.

“Move out the way, Vanna!” one fan commented on one of Maggie’s posts. “It’s Maggie’s time.”

In September, Maggie spoke to Us Weekly about her dad and her love for Wheel of Fortune. She and Pat are “close,” she told the publication. “He’s really my hero,” she said at the time.

Speaking about Wheel of Fortune specifically, she said, “the show means so much to me and to my family, so we’re always gonna want that to stay so special and it will. It is in great hands so we’re excited to see where it goes.”

In addition to working on Wheel of Fortune as the show’s social correspondent, Maggie has also been pursuing other ambitions. In November, she announced that she had passed the California State Bar Exam.

“A couple months ago, I officially took the oath to become a lawyer in the state of California,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories at the time. “Thank you to everyone who supported me through this journey. I am excited to do some good with this in the future.”
