It turns out, Donald Trump might be the most youthful geriatric president in history. Or, you know, something like that. When someone posted about him looking younger than his 79 years on X (formerly Twitter), others were convinced that there is something different about his appearance. But what it is isn’t exactly clear, as people began to speculate on social media and even debate on the topic.
Apparently, some people really see Trump as a spry sitting president who has more energy than most men who are nearing 80. That might be true in some ways, but does he actually look younger and seem younger in more than just a couple of well-timed photos? People legitimately think Trump looks different.

You probably didn’t have it on your 2026 bingo card for people to suddenly see Trump as anything but old, sickly, and very, very orange. But when the user made that X post, they wrote, “79 is the new 39. President Trump is aging in reverse.” So yeah, that’s…interesting. How accurate is it, though? In the photos, one shows Trump up close with a crooked grin that looks a lot more relaxed than usual.
And he does often golf. In fact, Trump might be seen on the golf course more than most presidents in recent history. Does that mean he’s “aging in reverse,” though?
Someone commented on the X post with, “The energy is undeniable. Whatever he’s doing, 79 looking like 39 is something most people wish they could figure out.”
A clear MAGA supporter added, in a way that someone who gassing up the president only can, “He is such a handsome man for his age! He really looks like a 50-year-old male supermodel in that first Pic, at least to me.”
Someone also wrote, “Boomers forever inspire me to keep going. They don’t make them like that anymore.”
Maybe they just caught him on a good day.
However, plenty of people pointed out that there are a myriad of health problems Trump has either admitted to or been unable to explain away. Like his swollen ankles seen in photos, the discoloration on the back of his hand, and the scaly rash on his neck. Then, there are the moments of Trump appearing to fall asleep in the Oval Office, or heard going off on a tangent that has nothing to do with, well, anything.
“He can’t walk,” a user pointed out. “He gives press conferences sitting down, but sure, it’s not a cult at all.”
A person also wrote, in direct response to what was said in the post, “LOL that ain’t what we’re seeing…Trump is deteriorating right before our eyes…every time I see him on TV he looks more and more out of it.”
“Dude can’t hold his head up,” someone chimed in. “He is in extreme mental decline.”
Someone else accused Trump of wearing a diaper and “decomposing in real time,” so there’s that.
He does have a different smile when he’s with his grandkids.
To be fair, Trump doesn’t always look like he is two swollen appendages away from a hospital stay. Whenever he is photographed with his grandchildren, particularly Kai Trump, he has what can only be described as his only authentic smile. Maybe that is what’s keeping him young, if we’re actually calling it that.
But, for the most part, the photos of Trump in that X post seem to be the exception. More often than not, Trump does seem to be every bit his 79 years. Even if MAGA enthusiasts claim otherwise to anyone who will listen.
