What to Know
It’s been more than 15 years since Camille Grammer and Kelsey Grammer finalized their divorce, but she just recently opened up about how much the split impacted her. The former couple split up in 2010, after 13 years of marriage. Kelsey had admitted to having an affair with flight attendant Kayte Walsh, and based on what Camille revealed during a recent podcast appearance, it sounds like he didn’t really have any regrets.
Although Kelsey cheated on Camille, he allegedly sent her a text that read, “I feel no remorse for what I am doing.” Understandably, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 57, found the text “very harsh,” which kind of sounds like an understatement.
She actually felt “broken.”
In addition to dealing with the divorce itself, Camille also had to find a way to cope with the fact that she was a reality TV star at the time, which meant tons of people were witnessing the messy divorce play out. And on top of that, her ex-husband reportedly had a lot of people helping him protect his reputation.
“I was broken,” she admitted during a recent appearance on Cynthia Bailey and Crystal Kung Minkoff’s Humble Brag podcast. “I broke, I’m gonna be honest, I broke, and I think I broke when the show was airing, because I was getting it from all sides.”
She continued, “I don’t feel like I was getting a break — ’cause the show, the fans, the audience. Then, bigger than that, it’s Kelsey’s people — his machine behind him to protect his image — that were on full force.”
She actually contacted her ex about this at the time. “I remember calling him, saying, ‘Get your dogs off me, get your bulldogs off me. ‘Cause I don’t wanna keep reading this horrible stuff that you’re putting out there with your posse to protect your image.”
But now, she hasn’t spoken to Kelsey in 14 years.
The exes share two kids, Mason, 24, and Jude, 21, but Camille clarified that they’re not exactly co-parents. Instead, they rely on “parallel parenting.”
In the more immediate aftermath of their divorce, Camille was truly questioning how she would get through it. When speaking to RHOBH producers at the time, she admitted, “I don’t know how I’m gonna stay alive through this.”
She explained, “That’s how dark it got and how upset I was, like almost suicidal, but not quite.” Describing what it felt like at the time, she said, “I felt like I was getting kicked from every angle and I wasn’t getting a break, I couldn’t come up for air. So it’s being thrown in the middle of the ocean without a life raft and drowning.”
The fact that she “wasn’t getting any help” definitely made it even worse.
And, of course, the harsh text was devastating.
Last year, at BravoCon 2025, Camille called her ex “so bald” and said he had a “big forehead.” But, during their marriage, she truly loved him and thought he felt the same way, which made the affair and the alleged text that followed extra difficult to come to terms with.
“That (text Kelsey sent) was very harsh because I was very much in love with him, and I believed he was very much in love with me,” she said on the recent podcast.
