Donald Trump might have a choke-hold on his immediate family members, but no one is silencing his niece, Mary Trump, any time soon. I’d say that her comments about him have to make holidays a little awkward, but who are we kidding? No one actually thinks Trump surrounds himself with anyone but yes men and yes family members for special events.
After Trump traveled to France for the G7 Summit, Mary spoke with journalist Steven Beschloss and shared the details of their chat in a post on her YouTube account. Mary opened up about her uncle, as per usual, and she shared insight into what makes him tick. Specifically, what his weaknesses are these days.
Donald Trump can’t hide from some of his worst fears.
Mary Trump on Trump/Iran:
— IT’S TIME FOR JUSTICE (@LiddleSavages) June 20, 2026
“This is what happens when you put in power a man who knows nothing about history, who has been allowed to get away with perpetuating the myth that he’s a great dealmaker when he’s an incompetent failed businessman and always pic.twitter.com/7iv6us0iax
Mary said that Trump is essentially in a losing battle against himself. His body is failing him and he is continuously humiliating himself in public, with little explanation that makes sense. But Mary has clocked the president in a way that not many can, because he might have a lot of close political advisors, but Mary might know him a bit better than them.
“He’s experiencing constant narcissistic injuries, and nothing terrifies Donald more than humiliation,” Mary said. “The problem for him is that nobody humiliates Donald more effectively than Donald humiliates himself.”
But she didn’t stop there. The clinical psychologist added, “Everything he’s doing now exists in service of protecting his fragile ego and trying to fill what I’ve long described as the black hole of need within him. He woke up the next morning [after the G7 Summit] and discovered, once again, that none of it helped. He’s still an empty, unloved man, and maintaining that illusion has become psychologically exhausting.”
She also spoke about Trump in her memoir.

It’s hard to say exactly when Trump and Mary began their decades-long feud, but she remains one of the only members of the Trump family to be so openly against everything that Trump does. It’s refreshing, really, even if people are a little confused about how Trump made such an enemy out of his niece.
In her 2020 memoir, Too Much and Never Enough, Mary wrote of Trump in numerous ways, and she didn’t mince words about her uncle. She wrote about his inability to regulate his emotions and how she hasn’t seen him change much in the years she has known him.
“Donald today is much as he was at three years old: incapable of growing, learning, or evolving, unable to regulate his emotions, moderate his responses, or take in and synthesize information,” Mary wrote.
She also wrote, “Donald was to my grandfather what the border wall has been for Donald: a vanity project funded at the expense of more worthy pursuits.” Ouch, that one has got to hurt.
The White House responded to what Mary Trump said.

According to LADBible, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung spoke out in response to what Mary said about Trump. He called her a “stone cold loser” and said that her alleged lies about Trump are meant to help her remain relevant.
“Her entire worth as a human being is predicated on spewing lies about President Trump in a sad attempt to stay relevant,” he said.
But it is highly unlikely that a little clapback ‘ike that will silence Mary about Trump any time soon.
