Donald Trump Gets Distracted By His Thinning Hair During GOP Convention Speech

There are a lot of things you could say about President Donald Trump, and somehow, his hair has still become a topic of conversation. Back in August, photos and videos from an event in Nevada went viral because the president’s hair looked unusually fluffy and voluminous. His hair managed to spark a huge debate in the days that followed, leading some people to speculate that he could be wearing a wig. Prior to this appearance, people had noticed Trump’s hair looking thinner, which made his critics question whether he was feeling insecure about it.

And at a recent event, he basically admitted that the changes to his hair really are getting to him.

While speaking at the GOP midterm convention, Trump got distracted by his own hair.

Trump is not exactly known for his modesty or his tendency to be honest about his flaws. During many of his speeches, he tends to focus on boasting about the things he has done. But while on stage at the event in Dallas, he got distracted from his speech when he looked up at a large screen and noticed how his hair looked.

He actually commented on it while on stage and said he needs to do something about it. “I gotta do a little bit better in the back right there,” Trump said, referring to where his hair is thinning. Noticing a bald spot on screen, he added, “I don’t like that little skin that’s showing, I’m not happy with it.”

He told the crowd that looking at the visual projection of himself was a mistake.

“That’s not good,” he admitted. “I shouldn’t have looked up there.” Days before Trump complained about his hair, the internet noticed that his hair appeared to be much darker than usual (and also seemed to be thinning). On September 5, journalist Aaron Rupar shared photos showcasing Trump’s seemingly brown hair on X. He captioned the photos with, “what (in) the world is going on with Trump’s hair?”

Lots of people have shared their thoughts and theories online.

“Trump’s hair is trying to leave office before he does,” one person joked in the comments. The new hair color also exacerbated the wig rumors. “He and his previous wig decided to part ways,” someone else wrote. “new wig, who dis?” said another commenter.

Others saw the apparent change as a sign that Trump has “no self-esteem.” One person wrote, “There’s something sad and pathetic about Trump coloring his hair so he can fool himself into thinking he is younger.”

To some, the sudden pivot from his usual blond hair seemed like another “recession indicator.” Some people joked that they could barely recognize him. “Who in the F— is THAT!?” someone questioned.

“That color goes really well with orange,” a commenter joked. “Perfect for fall!”

Perhaps the commentary is bothering Trump, and he truly is feeling more self-conscious about it. But given all the recent talk about his hair, it’s interesting that he would actually draw attention to the changes during a speech.
