Boy With No Money Pleads To School Cafeteria For Food & Gets Something Unexpected Instead

Amy was 34 years old and had been a widow for five years. The sudden death of her husband forced her into single parenthood and raising their only son, Jake, completely on her own.

One trait that she saw in her son Jake that he inherited from his father was his innate kindness. Even though it was something that most people admired, Amy sometimes wished that Jake would stand up for himself when necessary.

Amy tried to tell her son that even though he always prided himself on his good manners, if someone made a mistake or was making him feel uncomfortable, he could always express that using his words. Jake promised his mom that he would at least try if a situation presented itself while he was at school.

One day, Jake went to school and forgot to take his lunch money that his mom left out on the kitchen table. A lot of schools within the public system have a policy in which no kid should be left without something to eat while at school, but when Jake asked the cafeteria for something to eat, he was shocked at what the cafeteria worker gave him.

The cafeteria worker gave Jake a peanut butter and jelly sandwich that was made with visibly moldy bread. When Jake saw the mold on his sandwich, he immediately threw it out. When he worked up the courage to tell the school cafeteria worker about his sandwich, she just dismissed him.
