What to Know
Elon Musk was among the high-profile individuals named in the recently released Jeffrey Epstein files. Though being mentioned in the documents doesn’t necessarily indicate wrongdoing, it certainly raises questions. After the Department of Justice released the documents, Musk’s estranged daughter, Vivian Wilson, took to social media to share what she knew.
The newly released Epstein files contain some email exchanges between Musk and the convicted sex offender. In those emails, the two men appeared to try to coordinate a trip to Epstein’s island, but it’s not clear if the trip ever actually happened. Musk has claimed that he declined Epstein’s invitations.
Based on the emails, Musk seemed interested in visiting Epstein’s island.
Musk and Epstein emailed each other in 2012 and 2013, trying to coordinate plans. In one email from November 2012, Musk wrote, “What day/night will be the wildest party on your island?” This was after Epstein wrote, “If you find some time, come visit me on my island” in September of that year. Musk wrote back, “Sounds good, will try to make it.”
In December 2013, Musk emailed Epstein to let him know he would be “in the BVI/St Bart’s area over the holidays.” He asked, “Is there a good time to visit?” After receiving a response from Epstein, he wrote, “I need to fly back to LA on the night of the 2nd… actually, I could fly back early on the 3rd. We will be in St Bart’s. When should we head to your island on the 2nd?”
According to the New York Times, the two men seemingly made plans to meet on January 2, 2014, but Epstein backed out and said he would be staying in New York instead. “I was really looking forward to finally spending some time together with just fun as the agenda,” he wrote.
Wilson remembers going to St Barth’s as a kid.
After the files were released, Wilson, 21, shared some memories from her childhood and said she believes the emails included in the files are real. “There was this boat ride from St Vincent to St Barth’s I remember from when I was little,” she wrote in one post. “We used to visit around the holidays. I remember the sea being so dark at night.” Some of her followers didn’t seem to know what she was referring to, with some noting that they were afraid to find out.
In another series of posts, Wilson addressed the Epstein files more directly. “I’m just going to speak directly instead of being vague and cryptic,” she said. “I can confirm we were in St Barth’s at the time specified in the emails, and therefore I believe they are authentic.”
Wilson continued, “This has basically already been confirmed through his attempts to paint them as out of context (denial is a river in Egypt).” She also revealed that she wasn’t aware of her estranged dad’s emails to Epstein before the DOJ released the files. “I knew nothing about the e-mails previously so I’m learning about everything at the same time as y’all,” she wrote. “If there’s any other information I learn that I can corroborate I will do so.”
Musk also acknowledged the emails.
In his own social media posts, Musk maintained that he declined invitations to visit Epstein’s island. On Sunday, February 1, he wrote, “Epstein hounded me relentlessly to go to his pedo island and I always declined.” In another post, he wrote, “Nobody has fought harder for full release of the Epstein files and prosecutions of those who abused children more than I did, knowing full well that the legacy media, far-left propagandists and those who are actually guilty would: 1. Admit nothing 2. Deny everything 3. Make counter-accusations against me.”
He continued, “I knew that I would be smeared relentlessly, despite never having attended his parties or been on his ‘Lolita Express’ plane or set foot on his creepy island or done anything wrong at all. Nonetheless, the extreme pain of being accused of being the opposite of who I am was worth it.”
No one pushed harder than me to have the Epstein files released and I’m glad that has finally happened.

I had very little correspondence with Epstein and declined repeated invitations to go to his island or fly on his “Lolita Express”, but was well aware that some email…
The day before that, he wrote something very similar, once again claiming that “no one pushed harder than” he did for the release of the files. He claimed, “I had very little correspondence with Epstein and declined repeated invitations to go to his island or fly on his ‘Lolita Express’, but was well aware that some email correspondence with him could be misinterpreted and used by detractors to smear my name. I don’t care about that, but what I do care about is that we at least attempt to prosecute those who committed serious crimes with Epstein, especially regarding heinous exploitation of underage girls.”
