While criticizing the many Americans who protested against President Donald Trump over the weekend, Fox News host Jesse Watters made it clear that he and his mom don’t exactly see eye to eye. In fact, sometimes he’s not even sure if they’re actually biologically related. OnThe Five, Watters said those who attended the No Kings demonstrations across the country on Saturday, October 18 have “lost their minds.” Also, his own mother was one of them.
His tone suggested that he was completely disgusted by his mom’s decision to participate. “I know my mom was there,” Watters said when discussing the protests. “Can you believe my mom was there? Sometimes I think I was adopted.”
Later, Watters went on to claim that many of the protesters who attend these anti-Trump demonstrations actually have “no idea why they’re there” and are “just kind of walking around.” Though he tried to say that many of the protesters had “no clue” why they were there, he did admit that some of them — including his mom — knew exactly what they were doing.
Watters also attacked the entire premise behind the No Kings protests. According to him, “the Democrats love kings” because “they love the government telling them what to do.” He asserted that Democrats “love to submit” and “love to conform.”
At the same time, they have also “lost their minds,” he said. “They do these things: the Women’s March, BLM, the Musk stuff. The issues change, but the one thing that stays the same is Trump,” he explained. “They think this guy’s like crack cocaine. They get these big bursts of energy every once in a while, but long term this has been bad for their health.”
He continued with, “They’ve lost the culture, they’ve lost the media, they’ve lost two of the last three elections, they’ve lost all power in Washington, and they’ve lost their minds.”
In spite of Watters’ interpretation of the No Kings protests, his mom was far from the only person who made the decision to protest against the Trump administration over the weekend. The No Kings events occurred at more than 2,700 different locations around the country, CNN reported. According to the news outlet, organizers said nearly 7 million people took to the streets to protest against Trump’s “authoritarian” agenda.
