What to Know
Lots of people have tried to impersonate President Donald Trump at this point, and some of the attempts have been more amusing and accurate than others. Former Vice President Kamala Harris tried her hand at it during a recent event, but conservatives online are saying it’s the worst Trump impression they’ve ever heard.
While speaking at the National Action Network (NAN) annual convention, Harris argued that Trump approaches foreign policy like he’s a “mob boss.”
A clip of the comparison has been circulating online.
NOW – Kamala attempts to impersonate Trump as a mob boss: "Well you know—you take Eastern Europe, and I'll take the Western Hemisphere, and then you over there you get Asia, and we'll just divide it up. Right?" pic.twitter.com/aIntAVNSA2

In the clip, Harris explained, “The way that he’s thinking of foreign policy, it seems, is when he talks about America first, it’s to withdraw from these relationships and these connections, and then he kind of acts like a mob boss.” She then went on to “impersonate” Trump in a way, though she was more so trying to demonstrate his approach to foreign policy by acting like a “mob boss.”
“So then he’s kind of like, ‘Well, you know. You take Eastern Europe, I’ll take the Western Hemisphere. Then you over there, you get Asia, and we’ll just divide it up,'” she said in the clip.
However, the criticism has less to do with her actual words and more to do with the fact that critics think she sounded nothing like Trump.
Critics called it “cringe.”
Kamala Harris' 'Trump Impersonation' is the worst thing I have ever seen.

“Who told her this was a good idea?” one critic questioned on X. Someone else wrote, “This isn’t even a Trump impression, it’s a ‘suburban mom who just finished her fourth glass of Chardonnay’ impression.”
“How is it possible that this is her best Trump impression?” another person wondered. After watching the clip, some conservatives claimed that the U.S. “dodged a bullet” by not electing her. (Though, arguably, the president’s ability to do accurate impressions is maybe not the most important thing).
Some people, however, jumped to Harris’ defense, arguing that much of the criticism directed at her is rooted in racism and misogyny (a lot of the negative comments focused on how “obnoxious” and “insufferable” her voice sounds). “The only things ‘wrong’ with her, is that she’s black, she’s a woman, and she’s educated,” someone commented.
And other people defended her as well.

"So while [Trump] struts around boasting about how he will annihilate a whole people, what he is in fact doing, is making us weaker, unreliable and less influential."
BRAVO!! pic.twitter.com/hySsz9ZPr5
In an X post, right-wing commentator Benny Johnson wrote, “Kamala Harris’ ‘Trump Impersonation’ is the worst thing I have ever seen. Total cringe.” But some of the people in the comments did not appear to agree—at least, not exactly.
A few people argued that Harris’ ability to impersonate people is not any worse than Trump’s ability to do so. “Trump’s imitation of others is much worse,” a commenter argued. And regardless of how you feel about Harris’ voice or her ability to do an impression, some argued that she did have a point. “But you didn’t call her a liar. Hmmm..” one person wrote in response to Johnson’s critique.
During the same event, Harris criticized the way Trump took to social media to threaten Iran, and some social media users praised her for that, even if her Trump impression wasn’t the best. “While [Trump] struts around boasting about how he will annihilate a whole people, what he is in fact doing… is making us weaker, unreliable and less influential,” Harris said.
