Matthew Perry’s Ex Thinks There’s Something Suspicious About His Death & Something Is Off

One of Matthew Perry's ex-girlfriends says that there's something suspicious about the actor's death. Though illicit drugs were not found at the scene after Matthew Perry died, Kayti Edwards told The Sun that this doesn't necessarily mean he hadn't been using drugs.

In fact, something about Matthew's last Instagram post before his death makes Kayti believe that he could've relapsed. Matthew's last Instagram post showed him in a hot tub with the caption, "Oh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good? I'm Mattman."

Kayti, who dated Matthew in 2006 and stayed close with him, told The Sun that referring to himself as "Mattman" could indicate that Matthew had relapsed.

He didn't use his "Mattman" alter ego when sober, Kayti explained to the outlet. "Mattman would come out when he was not sober and he felt kind of invincible," she said. "I was around when he was getting high, although I was not getting high with him, and when I would say maybe he should cool it a little bit with the drugs, he would say, ‘No, I’m Mattman.’”

Matthew Perry was found dead in his hot tub on October 28. The cause of death has not been determined, but no drugs were found at the scene other than prescription medication for conditions like depression and COPD. Kayti still thinks Matthew might've taken pills.

She told The Sun that it made sense that no drugs were found at the scene because "he didn’t leave drugs lying around." She claimed, “He was paranoid and would take them all, so there wasn’t any evidence, and then go out for more when he was ready to."

She also alleges that when he was doing drugs, he liked to be in water. "He had a thing with water when he was doing drugs," she said. "He always wanted to be in the pool or the Jacuzzi.”

Kayti added that Matthew was "strategic" about his drug use and was scared of death. At the same time, he really struggled. She told The Sun that the fact that she didn't have the opportunity to say goodbye to Matthew is "what kills [her] the most."

In Matthew's memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, he was open about his battles with addiction, and said that people could tell which substance he was using based on how he looked.

"You can track the trajectory of my addiction if you gauge my weight from season to season (of Friends) — when I’m carrying weight, it’s alcohol; when I’m skinny, it’s pills. When I have a goatee, it’s lots of pills," Matthew had explained in his book.

Though Kayti speculates that Matthew might've relapsed before his death, another friend of Matthew's, Athenna Crosby, doesn't believe that's the case. She told Fox News Digital that Matthew seemed sober when she saw him just a day before his death. "I think people are speculating that this was a relapse situation. I just want to defend him and say that it was not," she said.
