King Charles III is making his ascension as the UK's reigning monarch with a big hit. Just weeks ahead of his coronation, his personal net worth was revealed. And oh boy, is he worth a lot.
Charles' ascension comes after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022. He will officially be crowned king during a ceremony on May 6, 2023.
Just weeks before that ceremony takes place, his personal net worth was revealed, standing at £600 million. That is about $745 million in US dollars.

After the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Charles inherited almost £22 billion, which is around $28 billion US. This came from assets belonging to the Crown Estate, Buckingham Palace, the Duchy of Lancaster, the Duchy of Cornwall, and Kensington Palace.
The late queen's personal net worth was calculated last year to be around £370 million (about $460 million US). So Charles is already at nearly double what she was worth.
After the queen's death, Charles reportedly inherited a lot of her fortune. This equated to nearly £400 million.
Sandringham Estate and Balmoral Castle are said to be the “most valuable assets” owned by the king. Sandringham is estimated at £245 million, and Balmoral at £245 million.
A previous adviser to the king apparently shared that he would tuck away money from the duchy. This came about after his divorce from the late Princess Diana. The divorce settlement was a hefty £17 million.
Charles will be appointed during his coronation ceremony. The ceremony will take place in London at Westminster Abbey.
