Here in New York City, you take in a lot in a short time, and it's not always the most comfortable sights.
In a single day you may see a couple get into a fight, a child throw a tantrum in a grocery store, a homeless man asking for a spare quarter…you see a lot.
However, one thing you don't see quite often in this city — through all of its bustle and noise — is genuine kindness, especially between strangers. But, at their core, we like to believe that people truly are kind — and the man in this video definitely helps us believe that!
At LittleThings, we love to highlight the true altruism of strangers, like this cop who acted as a surrogate father for a little girl or these students who honored their beloved teacher with an emotional video.
I'm not sure where this particular encounter happened, but regardless, it's an amazing thing to watch.
A lot of people won't stop in their tracks when they see something like this on foot. It's not because they are bad people, and it's not because they don't care; instead, it's because we often don't feel as though we have time to think about and process what's happening right in front of us.
However, when this biker was cruising down the street and witnessed this at the :19 second mark, he knew he could not keep going.
