People Are Trying To Say Frank Sinatra Would’ve Supported Trump & Nancy Sinatra Isn’t Having It

Whenever anyone tries to suggest that Frank Sinatra would’ve been a Trump supporter, his daughter doesn’t hesitate to set the record straight. Because, yes, this is a thing that has happened multiple times at this point. Some people who presumably support President Donald Trump themselves have assumed that, because Frank voted for Republicans a couple of times in his lifetime, he would’ve embraced the MAGA movement.

But his daughter Nancy Sinatra has quickly put these people in their place by sharing the facts about her father.

On May 14, Nancy responded to a person who claimed her dad would’ve liked Trump.

The original X post has since been deleted, but the person who posted it had claimed that Frank became “disgusted” with the Democratic Party at some point. Nancy quickly corrected this.

“Frank Sinatra was a registered Democrat all of his life,” she wrote back. “Occasionally he voted for a republican: for Nixon because of his stand on China and Reagan because they were lifelong friends. He never ‘became disgusted’ with the Democratic Party. Nice try but you didn’t research before posting.”

People love that she did this (and also can’t believe that some people have the audacity to continue to make these claims about her father when she has corrected them before). “imagine being so confidently wrong and trying to tell Frank Sinatra’s daughter what Frank Sinatra would have done or liked,” one person wrote in response to the interaction on X. “these people are out of their minds.”

And someone replied to the original person who said Frank would’ve supported Trump, writing, “Nancy says ur full of it.”

The person tried to make this claim just after Nancy shared a heartfelt tribute to her dad on the anniversary of his death.

So, maybe not the best time to speculate about Frank’s political beliefs—and in a message to his daughter at that. In her emotional post, she wrote, “Twenty-eight years ago, the world lost Frank Sinatra, and I lost my dad. I don’t think I’ll ever fully get over the loss of him, or the fact that my siblings and I were disregarded and not given a chance to say goodbye.”

She referred to her father as “one of the most extraordinary men I ever had the privilege to know.” In addition, she noted that her father would be “thrilled to know” that people continue to enjoy his music. “On this sad anniversary, I find myself thinking about all he accomplished, the joy he brought to so many people, and the love he gave to those closest to him,” she wrote in part. “The world could certainly use his warmth, kindness, grace, and wonderful sense of humor today. He had a way of making people feel special, whether it was one person sitting beside him or on stage in front of thousands.”

She has responded to claims about her dad and Trump before.

For whatever reason, some people seem hung up on the idea that Frank would’ve been a Trump supporter. At the end of last year, Nancy reacted to a video about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity in New Orleans and wrote, “This is not my father’s America. He would be devastated. trump is so wrong in so may ways.”

In response, someone tried to tell her, “Your Dad would have loved Trump.”

But, in reality, this isn’t actually something that people need to speculate about, because Nancy’s father knew Trump. She told this person that this was not a hypothetical situation: Frank actually hated Trump. “Do some homework before you make a fool of yourself,” she wrote back at the time. “My dad LOATHED trump.”
